WOP-LAC Strengthening the Management of Drinking Water Systems

From April 15 to 19, 2024, Adecor-Guatemala, supported by the GWOPA/UN-Habitat program and funded by the Inter-American Development Bank, visited Chile to strengthen their drinking water management systems. The visit focused on training provided by cooperatives within FESAN, including Coop. Drinking Water Hospital Champa, Cooperative La Compañía, Cooperativa de Requegua, and Cooperativa de Cumpeo. Key training aspects included governance principles, administrative management (covering customer management, accounting, and fees), and technical/operational management for rural drinking water services. Manuel Morán, President of FESAN, emphasized the initiative’s role in enhancing local capacities for sustainable water management and community well-being.
