GWOPA becomes a partner in the Stronger Together! Coalition

Together with members and partners, GWOPA strives to create a more inclusive and equitable water and sanitation sector where women have equal opportunities to participate, lead, and thrive. Women in water and sanitation utilities need to have equal opportunities and representation at all levels of their organisations, allowing them to pursue their career aspirations and progress.

The Alliance is proud to join and support the work of the Stronger Together! Coalition, consisting of seven global and regional women’s networks for female professionals in the water and sanitation sector and supporting partners.  The Stronger Together! Coalition unites a wide range of regional and global women’s networks and organizations committed to empowering professional women in the water and sanitation sector. Established in 2022, the coalition brings together diverse stakeholders, including women’s professional networks and like-minded partners from civil society and NGOs, sector federations, governmental agencies, development cooperation entities and professional associations. The women’s networks of the Stronger Together! Coalition are African Women Sanitation Professionals Network, Women in Water & Sanitation Network, South Asia Young Women in Water, Women in Water Diplomacy Network & Partners, Women for Water Partnership, Community of Women in Water, and African Professional Network of Women in WASH, and six supporting partner organisations including Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA)/ Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Aquafed, the Rural Water Supply Network (RWSN)/Skat Foundation and Agenda for Change.

The coalition fosters a powerful platform for collective action through its broad and dynamic network.
