Multi-stakeholder WOPs: Where NGOs, Academia and Others are adding Value to Utility Partnerships

#Governance

Tuesday 19 October — 10:00–12:00 (CEST)

Languages: English, French, Spanish

At their core, WOPs are partnerships between peer water and sanitation operators. However other types of organizations can enrich these partnerships greatly. In a growing number of WOPs, NGOs, researchers, workers and community groups are complementing utility knowledge and expertise. With their specialized skills, approaches and access, they can expand on traditional WOP activities and engage more effectively with WOP beneficiaries.

In this session, a sampling of non-traditional WOP partners will share how they are taking these partnerships into new domains, and helping them be more effective on topics ranging from community outreach to social marketing, and gender sensitivity to sanitation services.
