The outcome of the UN 2023 Water Conference was clear: the world will fail on SDG 6 without radically accelerating the pace of improvement. It calls on governments to dramatically increase their political commitments to water, focusing on the SDG 6 ‘accelerators’ of capacity, data, innovation, finance, and governance.
This session will look at how peer utilities can help one another learn and improve to accelerate the pace of service delivery. It will reflect and consider the potential of capacity development and scaling up of solidarity-based networks in taking us further toward achieving the SDGs.
The closing plenary of the Global WOPS Congress will identify key themes and insights brought out over the three days of the Conference. Diverse participants of the Global WOPs Congress will share their highlights from the day’s discussions and share how they intend to scale up efforts through solidarity-based, capacity-focused peer partnerships to advance SDG 6.
