To meet the needs of clean water for people in Sragen, Central Government and the local government has built infrastructure premises clean water quality at affordable prices by purchasing power.
In 1979-1985 the central government through the Department of Public Works, Human Settlements / Clean Water Supply Improvement Project (PPSAB) Central Java with German consultants Water Engineering (GWE) to build water infrastructure in Sragen. In 1985 the infrastructure and facilities were in operation being managed by an entity called the Agency for Drinking Water management (BPAM) Sragen, under the guidance and supervision of PPSAB Central Java.
Based on the Decree of the Minister of Public Works No. 58 / KPTS / 1990 dated December 14, 1990 and the corresponding Regulation Sragen No. 10 of 1990 dated December 14, 1990, there was a change in the status of the Management Board of Water (BPAM) into the Regional Water Company - PDAM Sragen.
