4 New WOPs under PERPAMSI platform kicked-off

PERPAMSI has launched four new WOPs under its facilitation in 2016 aimed at upgrading the performance of four mentees

Water Operators' Partnerships between Indonesian operators have become a common practice adopted in the country to improve the performance of utilities.

In this recent wave of WOPs, three water utility mentors have been engaged that aim to provide support in different focus areas.

  • PDAM Tirta Musi is hand in hand with mentee PDAM Kota Padang Panjang to implement Non Revenue Water reduction and energy efficiency programmes
  • PDAM Tirta Kerta Raharja helps mentee PDAM Kota Singkawang to improve the Geographical Information System
  • PDAM Tirta Raharja assists two mentees, PDAM Pesawaran and PDAM Deli Serdang, to modernize billing system

Based on the annual performance evaluation conducted by a government agency, three out of four mentees are categorized as less healthy water utilities, with PDAM Kota Padang Panjang recently classified as healthy in the last two years. The willingness and incentive to participate in WOP came directly from the mentees themselves and mentees and mentors have jointly agreed on the focus of WOPs and developed the work plan to be implemented until the end of 2017.

PERPAMSI has committed to continuing the implementation of its national WOP programme as a long-term mission to help its members achieve sustainable improvement and providing better services to customers. Since 2011, 40 national WOPs had been facilitated by PERPAMSI.
