Global Water Operators' Partnerships Alliance

GWOPA is guided by an international Steering Committee of representatives of utilities, utility associations, NGOs, labour, private sector, and expert organizations in the water and sanitation sector. The second international steering committee was formed in March 2011 and there are twenty-nine members.

GWOPA's General Assembly is an inclusive platform for all stakeholders interested in being part of the Alliance. The Assembly meets in parallel with the GWOPA Bi-annual Convention which is the main platform for inter-regional interaction for water operators within the Alliance. The first General Assembly meeting was held on 20-21 March 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa in conjunction with the World Water Day event.

Report of the Global WOPs Congress and GWOPA General Assembly

The GWOPA Secretariat is hosted by UN-HABITAT at its headquarters in Nairobi. The Secretariat implements the GWOPA work plan and coordinates all activities including supporting regional WOPs, knowledge management, benchmarking, capacity building, financial support, advocacy and communications.
